Inside the INSIDER – Student Story

The Insider Magazine, the official publication of South Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) Is one of the many things that changed my life for the better. This volunteer role of being an editor for one long year carries lots of memories and lessons. Let’s dive into my journey of being an editor for INSIDER and my inside story.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, INSIDER was first founded by our Editor in Chief, Mr Hugh Clack in 1999. His Immense dedication and effort have been fruitful because there are so many people who read the newspaper and are inspired in different ways. In my point of view, in the same instance where it added me some extra points to my bachelor’s, unknowingly I have turned into my creative self with INSIDER. Being an editor in INSIDER adds you up an extra 10 ECT points, with 05 ECT each per semester. This year, the magazine registered with a new team of approximately 8 dedicated members and I am so grateful that I am a part of it, as each one of us is bringing their unique talents and passions to its pages. One of the magazine’s distinguishing features is its tradition of welcoming new members every year. This not only flourishes the community with new ideas and perspectives but also contributes to the growth of the INSIDER community.

My younger self would have been very happy to know that I write interesting articles and have improved my vocabulary, ideas and thoughts. Every Wednesday we have a meeting to confirm our topics to be published on Friday. We possess an interesting room at XAMK exclusively for INSIDER which makes work and coordination easier. But what truly makes the Insider Magazine special is its universal appeal. Whether you’re a student, faculty member or simply someone with a thirst for knowledge, the magazine offers something for everyone. Its insightful articles, thought-provoking analyses and engaging content make it a recommended read for all.

Moreover, being part of the Insider Magazine opens up a world of opportunities for personal and professional growth. From refining writing and editing skills to gaining a deeper understanding of various subjects, the magazine provides a platform for students to develop and thrive

I would recommend anyone willing to explore a new journey to get themselves registered with INSIDER and begin a new journey to a world of opportunities, talent and friendship.
