A student who is passionate about making a difference in the world

Sasheeka Mahima Wijethunga is a 25-year-old student from Matara, Sri Lanka. He is currently studying Digital International Business at XAMK University in Finland. Mahima is a driven, risk-taking individual who is determined to succeed.

Mahima graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce specializing in Entrepreneurship from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka in 2023. He completed his internship in 2021 at MAS Holdings which is the largest apparel tech company in South Asia while being an undergraduate. He was promoted to Human Resources and Compliance Assistant in 2022 at MAS Active Contour line which introduced the production of the world-famous brand ‘Nike’ to Sri Lanka. In 2023, he was promoted to Human Resources and Administrative Executive which helped to expand his exposure more to the corporate environment. However, he wanted to pursue further studies and strengthen his knowledge and insight into the digital world. Hence, he decided to move to Finland with his wife to study and discover his global borders.

Additionally, he works as an editor at Insider Magazine. Also, Mahima is passionate about helping others and making a difference in their world as well.

In an interview, Mahima shared his thoughts on his journey to Finland and his plans. He said, “I am excited to be in Finland and to be studying at XAMK University. I am gaining so much from my professors and peers. I’m also appreciating the Finnish culture and way of life. My goal is to launch my digital enterprise in Finland once I graduate. I am confident that my skills and experience will help me to succeed.”

Mahima can be considered an inspiration to many students who dream of molding their lives into better prospects. He is an example of how hard work, dedication and courage can lead to success at a very young age.
