Summer sports are usually possible only in the warm season. Unlike winter sports, summer sports have a greater variety. After all, not only those types of competitions that can be held only in summer are presented here, but also all-season sports. In addition, the process of adopting new disciplines into the Olympic Games program is constantly underway.

Here are some of them:

Badminton is the throwing of a shuttlecock (a game projectile) through the net with the help of strikes with rackets. The shuttlecock must touch the ground on the opponent’s field. Two people can play against each other, or four people can play two against two. It has been an Olympic sport since 1992 (XXV Olympiad, Barcelona, Spain).

Football is a team sport in which the goal is to score the ball into the opponent’s goal with your feet or other body parts (except your hands) the greatest number of times. Currently, the most popular sport in the world.

Tennis is a sport in which either two players compete (“single game”) or two teams consisting of two players (“doubles game”). The task of the opponents (tennis players or tennis players) is to use rackets to send the ball to the opponent’s side so that he could not reflect it, at the same time, so that the ball does not fly out of the field of play.

Cycling is moving on the ground using vehicles (bicycles) driven by the muscular strength of a person. It includes such disciplines as racing on the track, highway, cross—country, mountain bike, competitions in figure riding, and ball games on bicycles. The main goal of racing disciplines is to overcome the distance as quickly as possible. Cycling has gained great popularity among rural youth.

One of the most prestigious competitions in Europe was considered the World Cycling Race, which was first held in 1948 on the roads of Poland, the GDR, and Czechoslovakia. In 1900, the International Union of Cyclists (French Union Cycliste Internationale, UCI) was founded, which is one of the oldest international sports associations. At the San Sebastian Congress in 1965, two independent federations were formed within the UCI: the International Amateur Cycling Federation (FIAC) and the International Federation of Professional Cycling (FICP). Back in 1968, the UCI Congress appealed to the International Olympic Committee with a request to include women’s cycling in the Olympic Games program. It was only in 1980 that women were allowed to compete at the Olympics in highway racing, but this happened only in 1984 at the Los Angeles Games. Since 1988, women have been eligible to compete at the Olympic Games in sprint and track pursuit.

And of course, the easiest way to summer sports and recreation is through tourism. The goals of a tourist trip can be very diverse. Some dream of conquering mountain peaks, others just want to sunbathe on the beach, and others set off on a journey to kneel in sacred places. It is one of the most effective means of preparing a person for safe interaction with the natural environment. This is one of the types of active recreation, the best way to escape from the hustle and bustle, see new and interesting things, and gain positive emotions. It also allows them to get acquainted with the culture of other countries and regions, enriches them spiritually, heals them physically, and promotes personal development. It allows you to combine rest with learning new things.

Tourism in Finland is a country of beautiful reservoirs, green riches, grass-covered plateaus. Here is the housing of Santa Claus, the famous strawberry fields stretch. Travelers rush here to look at the Aurora Borealis, ride on the best slopes of the mountain, gain strength, and stay in unusual ice houses. There are such types of tourism as sightseeing, skiing, health and wellness, and corporate. Following my example, I can say that tourism and cycling are the best entertainment and useful holidays in Finland.

Riding 40 kilometers a day every day and visiting various parks and places of nature, the organism gains strength and energy.
